Simple Swaps for Burning Scented Candles

I love the smells of fall. Cinnamon or vanilla are two of my favorites. In the past, I used candles to enjoy those smells, but I stopped because of the synthetic fragrance in most candles. Burning scented candles can release toxins in the air and they have been found to aggravate allergies, which I have, therefore I have limited what I am exposed to in my own home.

Maybe it is my own forgetfulness, but my other issue when I used candles was remembering to blow them out! Not a good idea!

But I found a solution to these problems!

What do you use as an alternative if you want to have the coziness of candles and the wonderful smell associated with this time of year?

The first thing you can do is use a diffuser. Diffusers are so much fun to use. I now prefer them to candles. Diffusers use water and essential oils.

The fun thing about diffusers is that you can change the smell every day. The ones I use have a light setting option that is easy to change.

I can make it look like there is a candle inside or I can switch it up and choose a certain color that goes with the season or the mood I am in.

Another option for creating a cozy home is buying battery-operated candles (with no scent). Use multiple ones around your living room or fireplace, which can make your home feel warm and inviting.

Natural room sprays are also fun to use. They are quick and easy to use in every area of your home. I discovered this room spray recently that smells just like fall!
